Job description
The business focus of AMS is sourcing, negotiating and contracting on behalf of and in close collaboration with its partners. Within AMS there are three Trade Teams; Fresh & Frozen, Food & Beverage and Non- & Near Food. AMS offers an internship position in the Fresh and Frozen Trade team at Schiphol Airport, the Netherlands.
The Fresh and Frozen team is responsible for the sourcing of private label products (from premium range to standard and economy range). The internship will be in that team which sources bakery products, cheese, fresh pasta and chilled pancakes.
You Will Work In Close Collaboration With The Trade Managers And Will Support As a Trade Assistant On Various Sourcing Tasks In Different Categories, Such As
The opportunity to understand the competitive world of sourcing private label goods for European retailers and to gain understanding of the dynamics of the raw material markets and insight in the value chain of various products.
There is an opportunity to work on a thesis assignment during this internship. Potential thesis subjects: International trade, Strategic sourcing alliances in retail, Sustainability in the FMCG, The future of raw material & commodities, Cultures & languages (e.g. cross cultural, communication), Foreign exchange impact, Corporate entrepreneurship.

You Will Work In Close Collaboration With The Trade Managers And Will Support As a Trade Assistant On Various Sourcing Tasks In Different Categories, Such As
- Collection of Tender Data from AMS Shareholders
- Preparation and participation in pan-European Buyers Meetings
- Preparing supplier contact lists and searching for potential new (international) suppliers
- Organizing and/or attending meetings with current and potential new suppliers
- Inviting and supporting suppliers in tender process, collecting offers from suppliers
- Preparation of sampling & quality testing for AMS Shareholder
- Preparing quotation overviews with offers collected in the tender and updating overview during negotiations
- Preparing contracts for AMS Shareholders and suppliers

Requirements
- Bachelor degree, equivalent or higher
- Good analytical skills
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills (planning, prioritizing, being structured & accurate)
- Service minded and with a proactive attitude
- Flexible, ability to work in a multi format and multicultural environment
- High degree of independence;
- Affinity with retail;
- Good Microsoft Office skills; Outlook – Word – Excel – PowerPoint
- Language: English. Other language skills are an advantage.
