JOB DESCRIPTION  
The position will be responsible for the set-up and operation of the thermoforming equipment.  Perform any combination of tasks involved in the assembly of plastic sheets.  The position may assume additional duties as assigned.  The successful incumbent will be detail oriented, able to follow instructions well, and work well in a team atmosphere. 
      
 

ACTIVITIES / TASKS 
  • Utilize a template to mark cutting lines on plastic sheets to be assembled and cutting sections out from sheets
  • Position sections on jig and then aligns seams and air valves
  • Examine plastic sheets for defects; such as cuts, malfunction in forming and wrinkled seams
  • Heat up cooler brackets by using a hot plate
  • Secures cooler with bench fixture
  • Perform a first piece inspection for proper dimensions
  • Record number of sheets and yards produced
  • Complete all necessary paperwork on starting, stopping and production of the equipment
  • Measure sheets and ensure all the dimensions are within tolerance
  • Ensure all tools are accounted for at the tool board and inspected
  • Change both side trim blades and slitter blade
  • Ensure proper sheet formation and within specifications
  • Ensure of proper glue contact on sheets
  • Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures
  • Document all changes made to the machine
  • Move and load roll stock on PVC machine including pushing onto the conveyor
  • Assist with changing mold
  • Clean up work area at the end of shift
  • Troubleshooting and making necessary adjustments
  • Communicate information with next shift

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATION 
  • High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience in manufacturing preferred, but not required
