About the opportunity
We are looking for volunteers to tutor Maths to young people from a variety of age groups, on Thursday evenings for 2 hours. Volunteer Maths Tutor Role Profile: - To attend classes regularly - To tutor pupils with their Maths work according to their individual needs - To provide support for small groups of young people (usually 1 volunteer to 3 children) - To use interesting teaching materials, from our collection or from your own research - To be aware of Health and Safety and Child Protection policies and comply with the procedures
What are they looking for?
We are looking for people who are passionate about working with young people. You don't need loads of experience, but you need to be committed to helping the pupils as much as you can. We want creative, reliable and enthusiastic people who want to give 2 hours of their week to help a young person succeed.
Practical Considerations
You do not need any formal qualifications, however we would expect GCSE Maths Grade B or equivalent. We will encourage attendance at safeguarding courses provided by Leeds Safeguarding Board. Attendance is free. Volunteer expenses are reimbursed.
