Main duties and responsibilities will include;
- Design of control logic via process and function diagrams (closed and open loop controls, protection) and steam turbine operation concept for the steam turbine, lube oil and hydraulic unit and gland steam condenser
- Specification, supplier selection and monitoring, placement of purchase orders and delivery inspection of steam turbine control systems (Alstom and other platforms) and the complete set of required instrumentation
- Support of tendering with regards to preparation of deviations and clarifications and generation of Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, Control Block Diagrams and the offer documentation in general for the work package
- Create, review engineering drawings and documentations (including lists, datasheet, functional specifications, block diagram, functional plans, P&IDs etc.) as internal documents, and from equipment suppliers to ensure correct implementation during project execution

Expectation of the Individual
- Prepare, check and approve engineering documentation: logic flow diagrams, process and function plans – Process Function Plans (PFuPs), instrument lists, operation descriptions, specification process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), instrument lists, electrical consumer lists, signal exchange lists, instrument installation diagrams, interface documentation for Distributed Control System integration, wiring diagrams, protection diagrams, system block diagrams, cable-routing and junction box designs and commissioning documentation
- To coach and mentor junior and less experienced I&C engineers within the group through the reviewing and checking of their work, assisting in their technical execution of tasks and advising on the correct practice
Educational Requirements
- Good Honours Master degree in Process or Automation Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with equivalent knowledge demonstrated through experience
Candidate requirements;
- Experience in system design and specification for turbomachinery applications
