Specialist, Data Centre Operations - Business Development (150713-8L) Telkom - Centurion

The incumbent will be responsible for the sale of Data Centre related products and services to end customers via the Telkom Business Account Management team.

Also responsible for meeting set targets for specific portfolios and for providing expert knowledge and understanding of IT systems and technology to the account managers and end customers.

Job Responsibilities: 
- Sell Datacentre (DCO)related products and services to end customers via the Telkom Business Account Management team
- Meet set targets for specific portfolio
- Provide knowledge and understanding of IT systems and technology to the account managers and end customers
- Present our solutions and services to Company executives and their teams
- Build, manage and close deals in the CMSS pipeline
- Oversee project implementation from order to billing to ensure revenue recognition takes place
- Respond to RFI's, RFP's, etc.
- Market and promote datacentre services and products, through campaigns, DC tours, etc.
- Effectively educate the account management team on our offerings so that they can identify opportunities to help build pipeline
- Contribute to the overall account strategy that the account manager will develop
- Work closely with the Cloud Architecture team to craft deals and solutions and obtain all customer required information in order to do so
- Have a good understanding of the pre-sale process
- Have a good understanding of the order to billing process
- Have a working knowledge of the CMSS CRM system
- Have a working knowledge of the SAP system
- Keep updated on technology trends
- Keep updated on competitive offerings
- Provide a management dashboard showing the engagement strategy and applicable gap plans where the targets are not   being met
- Build strong internal and external relationships
- Work effectively within a virtual team to ensure an overall successful client experience from sales order process to final implementation
- Have a good understanding of our network and how this relates to connectivity to the datacentres
- Achieve results as set out in the applicable ruling performance plan at the time

Desired Skills and Experience

Required Qualification and Experience:  A relevant 3 year B. Degree or equivalent (NQF Level 6) and 5 years experience in Business Development/Sales in a direct sales environment, in ICT related business, including proven sales track record of sales in an ICT related environment OR Grade 12 (NQF level 4) and 7 years experience in Business Development/Sales in a direct sales environment, in ICT related business, including proven sales track record of sales in an ICT related.

IT related certifications from hardware, software, services and providers will be a requirement. 

Special requirements: 
-  Must have a valid Driver's License.
-  Must be willing to travel.
