Technical Sales Manager (stainless steel robot welding and CNC laser cutting)

Our client:

A Nordic company, our client’s core competencies are to effectively combine engineering knowledge and craftsmanship with process engineering and modern manufacturing technologies, e.g. robot welding and CNC laser cutting, with a strong focus on Water industry, Heat exchanger industry and Air filtration industries.  Their goal is to position ourselves as an integrated partner further developing existing products and naturally becoming involved in the development of new products.

AS TECHNICAL SALES MANAGER:
You will get an exciting and challenging job with direct reference to the General Manager and our HQ technical developer and production specialists. To begin with, you will work very closely together with them. Your working day is typically characterized by close contact with customers through ongoing dialogue about projects, technical solutions; and follow-up on outstanding bids. You must have experience with preparation of tender and marketing material. The material is used promotionally, but will eventually also form the basic documentation for production. You are the link between customer’s requirements, R&D and production. In our company, engineers and blacksmiths work side by side, a form of cooperation which ensures a close dialogue about constructive solutions. You need to reside in or be able to stay in China for longer periods of time when needed.

YOU HAVE:
At least 5-7 years’ experience within customer contact from an order producing company, preferably a company designing according to customers’ specifications. At the same time you have a theoretical education in engineering, or equivalent technical skills. We would prefer a candidate with a good knowledge of modern design tools, calculation tools, material knowledge in stainless steel, and who is used to working with technical documentation.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
-  Source and develop new deals based on company core competencies;
- Develop sales strategies to penetrate new industries, together with HQ
Technical Experts follow-up and deliver upon sales leads and tasks delivered;
- Identify business opportunities; develop customer relationship, and form strategies.
- Participate in the development and execution of territory sales plans, to drive revenue
  growth.
- Integrate sales strategy with regional situation to maximize company's share in
  market place.
- Ensure all opportunities meet the company’s business objectives for profitability, and
  assess the commercial and technical viability of the project.
- Determine and assess all risks, including financial, environmental, legal, political, etc.
- Recommend the appropriate structure for the project to company, including the need for
   local equity partners, structure of the construction contract, and O&M (operation &
   maintenance) aspects of the project.
- Ensure a smooth transition of all activities to the implementation team
- Calculating prices on quotes, based on different technologies used within production in
  stainless steel

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
-A Danish citizen would be preferred, (Other Nordic/European citizens, or strong Chinese professionals welcome as well);
- Prefer working experience in heat exchange or water treatment industries.
- B.S. degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, with a practical background.
- Excellence in written and spoken English.
- 7+ years sales/commercial experience in the production industry.
- Technical and business process knowledge.
- Strong business development, marketing and customer relations’ skills .
- Experience in structuring contractual documents for construction and operation,
   including developing financial agreements.
- Experience in calculating prices in corporation with technical staff.
- Established success and track record in sales
- Ability to negotiate contracts.
- Excellent communication/sales skills - both verbal and written.
- Strong analytical skills - both technical and financial.
- Professional, inspiring confidence.
