Role Description:
Responsible for ensuring that all transactions are accounted for and balanced within designated TMS & FNBO accounting systems. Responsible for the daily management of Accounting Ops Funds Transfer and Chargeback Accounting teams. Business development for Settlement which includes managing and participating in all new business. Supports the development of individuals, teams and work initiatives.

Key Accountabilities
•Responsible for leading day to day operational workflows and assignments for the Funds Transfer team and Chargeback Accounting.

•Responsible for ensuring accuracy of all work and provide daily and weekly updates/reporting to management for assigned area.

•Review and ensure all transactions are accounted for and balanced within the designated TMS/FNBO accounting systems. This includes daily, weekly and monthly reconciliation and review of the settlement and chargeback general ledger accounts.

•SME and first point of escalation to resolve issues for significant team processes, reporting and systems. Team processes to include; initiating and monitoring electronic payments via wire and ACH, reconciling and researching complex payment accounts and transactions through the accounts, monitoring and working failed ACH returns, monitoring the holds and collection process, WIM account maintenance, and chargeback accounting.

•Responsible for team training needs and escalated problem resolution as needed.

•Assist in the development, testing and implementation of quality controls, production goals, process improvements and system enhancements.

•Take a leadership role in the personal development of the team, to include mentoring, training, performance reviews, issue resolution, succession planning, and capacity adjustments.
  • Stay abreast of factors impacting the department, to include changing industry or competitor conditions, technology changes, or other operational advancements.
  • Represent department during automation and new system development projects
  • Identify and implement opportunities for quality and efficiency improvements to processes
  • Assess risks of department processes; ensure documentation through the Risk Assessment program and implement controls, policies and/or procedures that mitigate those risks and maintain satisfactory or above audit ratings.
  • Report and review accurate measures of process quality, capacity and efficiency.
  • Establish and develop relationships with all significant partners including associations, vendors and all internal department leaders.
  • Required
    •Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 6 years of professional experience or 8 years of professional experience without a degree.

    •1-2 years accounting/finance experience

    •Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    •Strong planning and analytical skills

    •Previous management experience

    •Desired
    •2-3 years of experience in merchant settlement accounting area, preferably in a management role.

    •Well-developed leadership skills both in principles and people practices

    •Demonstrated ability to identify and analyze problems, exercise independent judgment, resourcefully innovate, recommend, and lead effective courses of action

    •Proven ability to organize, prioritize, coordinate, implement, and manage multiple projects, tasks and teams in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment in conjunction with day-to-day activities

    •2 years in payments industry or specifically merchant or card issuing experience
