This position’s accountability is the planning, tactical buying and managing the supply to assure the delivery of goods and services required to support timely manufacturing needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Procure material utilizing current material planning system and manufacturing /business trends.
Execute purchase orders from MRP system ensuring timely placement and delivery of components in line with production planning requirements.
Expedite and reschedule open purchase orders to suit production planning requirements.
Acknowledge and confirm purchase orders with suppliers .
Maintain item branch records which related planning and purchasing records( which includes safety stock, lead times, min/max.)in MRP system.
Monitor purchase inventory through Kanban, Consignment and various restocking programs.
Interact with production and sales to understand forecast drivers
Use and Maintain MRP data as the primary planning system tool.
Execute with excellence in the area of stock and demand replenishment providing feedback to the supply chain on risks regarding replenishment levels and demand.
Continually works with other associates to reduce purchased cost and improve quality and service.

RESPONSIBILITIES
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Material Science, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business or related field is preferred.
- Experience in material planning or purchasing is strongly preferred.
- Experience with demand planning in a Make to stock industrial or discrete manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP/ MRP/ Inventory systems is strongly preferred (JDE / ONE World a plus).
- Experience with BI systems and data analysis preferred. Understands total cost concept that includes material labor, overhead, quality and transportation.
- Must have Strong computer with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications. Must have strong excel skills (summary graphs, pivot tables, and V-Lookups)
- Familiarity working with an ERP system (MAPICS, SAP, JD Edwards, etc) is pre. JD Edwards is a plus.
- Knowledge of production planning, transportation, inventory product forecasting, replenishment. and other functions that would affect the customers. Must understand integrated production, supply chain and logistic concepts and principles
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Problems solving and data analysis skills (8D, 5Y, statistics, etc.). Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs and develop solutions.
- Strong analytical skills (comparative analysis via spreadsheet)
- Results oriented; good track record, and pushes for continuous improvement in performance in all areas
- Must be Detail Oriented with excellent planning and organizational skills
- Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to positively manage conflict.
