First Cook Kushi Izakaya - Toronto, CA

Company Overview 
Fine-dining restaurant located in uptown Toronto, NO requires an experienced Culinary Cook with 2 year experience and college diploma in related field. $15.00/hr to start, F/T working 40 hours/wk. 

Duties required:
Preparing individual and full-course Japanese and Italian dishes ensuring quality and quantity proportions, preparing sauce and garnishes, plan menu, determine food requirement, cost and order as needed, ability to work as a team and independently, inspect and clean work areas.

Responsibilities 
  • Prepare food items for customers using a quality predetermined method in a timely manner
  • Ensure food quality and presentation meets standards and contribute to the smooth operation of the kitchen
  • Keep the work area, utensils and production equipment in a clean, sanitized state
  • Follow Health and Safety procedures and identify unsafe practices or conditions
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the causes of food poisoning and the methods of its prevention
  • Control waste and spoilage
  • Restock any low items during the shift
  • Assist all team members whenever needed

Qualifications
  • 2 years professional culinary school training or equivalent
  • Two year's experience; 
  • Experience in a similar environment preferred
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment on a regular basis
  • Excellent attention to detail and proven creativity
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
