Job Summary and Mission 

This job contributes to Starbucks success by delivering a comprehensive understanding of Starbucks performance and marketplace trends through data driven insights. Prepares reporting and analyses to synthesize multiple data sources for macro learning. Works closely with Marketing, Sales, and Senior Leadership to assist in the evaluation of strategic programming, key business opportunities, trade promotions, and competitive activities. Ability to provide key insights and actionable recommendations required along with strong communication and presentation skills. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

Summary of Key Responsibilities 

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Analyzes brand and category performance to provides insights on key drivers of trends along with actionable recommendations
  • Participates on cross-functional teams, and ensures effective integration through development and distribution of appropriate content reports
  • Stays ahead of industry, category & brand, issues and trends and identifies target opportunities
  • Provides analysis to better understand and evaluate the effect of marketing and trade strategies for the Channel Development business
  • Facilitates knowledge sharing throughout the organization by providing business metrics, standard and ad hoc reports to diverse audiences
  • Assists in the development of key business goals and measurements by preparing business models and reports on trends for assigned product lines or business unit. Performs high-level analyses to evaluate opportunities and to assess the effectiveness of programs implemented across all business channels.


Qualification

Summary of Experience 

  • Total Experience (4 years)
  • Experience in traditional CPG companies (4 years)
  • Experience working with Nielsen and/or IRI (3 years)

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • Understanding of the CPG industry and business strategies
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize large amounts of data to draw clear conclusions
  • Strong knowledge of syndicated POS and Panel data. Ability to leverage multiple data sources (e.g. IRI/Nielsen, SPINS, dunnhumby)
  • Ability to effectively communicate data driven insights, both through effective visual representations of data as well as oral and written communication
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to learn difficult concepts quickly
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
