Responsibilities

Join our Information Technology team where you will work on new technologies and find ways to meet our customers’ needs and make it easy for them to do business with us. You will regularly lead multiple small to medium-size projects or one large project and perform project management activities such as planning, sizing, configuring and scheduling. You will develop resolutions to complex problems creatively and make decisions that impact projects & staff members.

This SMTS (Sr. Member of Technical Staff – Internal title) position is a BI Architect in the IT-SCM BI Reporting/Data Analytics team. This work effort is part of the transformation of VZW’s Business Intelligence and Analytics capabilities.  The candidate would be responsible for architecting, designing, deploying & managing the SAP BW-HANA environment. This individual would bring other BI/Reporting/Analytics best practices to the table and provide thought leadership & solution implementation guidance all of VZW-SCM. As an individual contributor, he/she should be able work in a high performing team environment and achieve consistent results.

The candidate will be the architect to design the complete SAP software application landscape using SAP B1-HANA platform and associated tools. The candidate would also focus on building a robust data platform based on multi-dimensional data models comprising of with data from multiple sources.

Incumbent will be conducting research on tools and other software available in the marketplace and make recommendations to leadership.  

This would include analytical modeling tools, other vendor products and SAP capabilities.

This architect will guide the SCM-IT BI development team from an architecture perspective on large-scale strategic projects around BI Reports and Data Analytics using SAP and other Big Data platforms.  Incumbent would be the go-to person for the SCM-IT BI team for all matters related to the BI technology stack.

Collaborate with other IT teams (POS, Billing, Care, etc), business sponsors, 3rd party service providers and OEM contacts to design and deploy projects that meet all stakeholder expectations.

This individual would also be SCM-IT’s key representative in other VZW forums and discussions related to directional decisions on applications strategy related to Business Intelligence and reporting platforms.

Support highly available Supply Chain BI solutions by collaborating with other VZW IT support teams – be available and lead Prod Support issue resolution.

Incumbent would be leading the support and trouble-shooting efforts on critical production issues and providing status to IT Leadership on root causes and problem resolution plan.

Qualifications

• + years of IT experience in SAP BW, with 2+ years specifically in the HANA platform (10+ Preferred)
• + years of experience in developing and building reports, data models, dashboards in SAP (10+ Preferred)
• + years large scale IT experience in supply chain areas such as Inventory Management and Retail Store Inventory Management OR similar other complex Business functional areas
• + years of experience of agile development methodologies preferred
• + years of strong integration experience with POS and e-Commerce applications is a plus (OR integration with other similar Enterprise level applications)
• + years of process management experience
• + years of experience managing and effectively operating a complex systems that are highly reliable, scalable, and available with DR capabilities preferred
• + years of experience with reporting tools such as Cognos, Tableau, Business Objects
• Project team management and team collaboration experience required
• Strong problem solving and presentation skills; independent thinker
• Superior written and verbal communication
• Experience interacting with Business stakeholders at all levels
• Demonstrated ability to assess technology needs of Business Intelligence, Analytics, Reporting, Analytical Modeling and Forecasting
• Superior and demonstrated knowledge of industry leading supply chain concepts, methodologies, and frameworks to realize sustainable competitive advantage
• supply chain industry accreditations including from SAP, SCOR is a plus
• Bachelors or Advanced Degree in Computer Science or Engineering; MBA or Master’s in MIS or Analytics is preferred
