Job Description:
The Group Treasurer is responsible to ensure the continuous availability of appropriate financing throughout the MEO Group of Companies, but ensuring appropriate lines of financing are in place with a safe degree of leverage, for the continued operations and growth of the business in the following key areas.
(1) Cash and liquidity management systems, policies, and procedures
- Establish a Group cash management system which optimizes finance income / expense through pooling of cash; efficient currency exchanges; cost-effective and efficient payment systems; and minimization of bank accounts
- Establish and maintain a system of cash flow planning and liquidity management, including assurance of debt covenant compliance
(2) Debt and bond raising and covenant compliance assurance & reporting
- Prepare and maintain a business financing (debt / equity) overview matching the legal entity model, providing clear overview of financing; debt covenants; and other restrictions by entity
- Plan, implement, maintain and continuously improve a cash-flow forecasting and post-analysis model which can also be used for sensitivity analysis and maps to debt-covenant compliance
- Provide reports on liquidity and debt-covenant compliance through the Group
- Support the timely and accurate preparation of financial information supporting the listing process; and to meet all internal and external reporting obligations (including debt covenant compliance)
(3) Financing risk management and internal control
- Establish and maintain a system of internal controls over Treasury within the internal control framework and linking to automated (bank & SAP) controls, including:
- Bank account establishment & alteration policies, procedures and notifications
- Policy & controls on physical cash handling, hedging, derivatives trading (including implementation)
- Financial strategy including policies and controls on subsidiary financing
- Policies & controls on intercompany financing & dividend payments
- Policies & controls on all releases of cash from bank accounts for payments
(4) Good banking relationship management
- Develop and maintain banking relationships with key lenders; deposit banks; and providers of other banking and financial services
- Maintain overview of key banking relationships (debt & service side)
- Arrange periodic lender update sessions (immediately following market updates)
- Maintain financing opportunities overview at Group, subsidiary, and project levels
Role Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor Degree Holder in Business / Commerce / Economics / Accounting with Professional Qualifications such as CPA/ CA
- Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience including at least 3 years of in a Treasurer role with similar responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of financial risk management including liquidity & leverage; intercompany financing; and balance sheet exposure hedging
- Sound knowledge of IFRS accounting and tax implications of indebtedness; debt/equity mix; and hedging
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, in particular Excel
- Proactive working attitude & highly committed
- Independent self-starter who is meticulous and resourceful team player
