We are now looking for an experienced professional to join our Wholesale Banking Compliance & Operational Risk function in Asia and provide broad-ranging Compliance and Operational Risk leadership and management for Wells Fargo’s activities in Singapore (primarily, Correspondent Banking, Trade Finance, Trade Services, Corporate Lending and Deposit Taking, FX, Institutional Securities Sales, Asset Management and Fund Administration).  The successful candidate will be intimately involved in advising the relevant SAP business lines and developing and maintaining an effective control framework and regime designed to identify, manage and mitigate regulatory and operational risks.  This position offers the opportunities and challenges presenting themselves when establishing or enhancing a compliance and operational risk management infrastructure, program and culture to align with the build-out or expansion in Asia Pacific of successful Wells Fargo businesses during a period of corporate integration and strategic business expansion.

Singapore Branch Compliance Consultant
Responsibilities:

• Developing, implementing and maintaining an effective Compliance and Operational Risk infrastructure in Singapore to accommodate applicable legal and regulatory requirements and Wells Fargo enterprise or line of business policies with a view to identifying, assessing and mitigating compliance and operational risks
• Implementing and administering Compliance and Operational Risk control systems and procedures and monitoring programmes for Wells Fargo’s activities in Singapore; discussing findings or issues and remedial action with business line, legal entity and enterprise management; undertaking ad hoc issue escalation and periodic reporting to management
• Providing comprehensive Compliance and Operational Risk advisory support for current and new or modified business initiatives and in any development, integration or rationalization of activities in Singapore
• Assisting Wells Fargo in Singapore meet all local or US legal and regulatory requirements and Wells Fargo enterprise and business line standards and requirements
• Interacting with the Monetary Authority of Singapore with respect to general enquiries, licensing, ongoing conduct and reporting requirements, and new or modified business initiatives; leading the local response to Compliance and Operational Risk monitoring and testing initiatives, internal audits and external regulatory exams
• Disseminating information concerning regulatory developments impacting Wells Fargo in Singapore, with necessary interpretation and impact assessment; developing and delivering Compliance and Operational Risk training to enhance awareness and knowledge of applicable laws and regulatory requirements and Wells Fargo enterprise or business line policies and procedures
