Regional Marketing Director, South Asia Pacific Axis Communications AB - Singapore

The Regional Marketing Director is a member of the Regional Management team, responsible for the regional marketing strategy, budget and the marketing team in the region, driving this area of expertise in a proactive way. The SAP sales organization is divided into 4 sub-regions, each with a Country Sales Manager driving the business. The 4 sub-regions have different market conditions and are in different phases of maturity. Axis is currently not the market leading brand in 3 of these sub-regions (except Oceania), which is why a firm brand building strategy for each one is a key part of our total strategy. Within this responsibility, it is critical to be interested and knowledgeable about the business and the customer needs. This includes continuous interaction with key customers and various regional and local industry organizations. Without this direct involvement in the business and customer relations, it will be impossible to drive trustworthy thought leadership within the sales team. In addition the Regional Marketing Director must have an interest and develop a fair knowledge about our products, solutions and offerings. Understanding both the customers needs and how our offerings meet them, is key for success. The knowledge about both the market and our offerings should be at a level so that the Marketing Director can act as one of the official spokespersons in the region, including being a role model for the other spokes persons.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

The Regional Marketing Director shall provide qualified support and thought leadership to the 4 sub-regions based on their current needs and situation – taking each of them step by step to a future maturity and market leadership. This includes being responsible for the prioritizations, implementation and follow-up of marketing initiatives (the local, regional and corporate). The Marketing Director shall also proactively take part in /or give input to the different corporate councils linked to the marketing area. Though based in Singapore this is an international role, and travel within the region and to Axis’ HQ in Sweden will be considered a natural part of the job.



Key responsibilities will include:

  • Strategy & Planning
    • Develop an overall long term marketing strategy for the region based upon the 4 sub-regions business goals.
    • Creating a yearly marketing plan including projects, activities and budget.
  • Secure consistent branding according corporate guidelines
  • Lead and follow up regional marketing initiatives and activities such as
    • Support sales with content, presentations and tools for specific value communication for different target groups.
    • Events including trade shows and customer conferences.
    • Online and offline marketing campaigns towards selected target groups.
      • Eg. Products, solutions, tools and systems.
    • Local web site, local content E-newsletter
    • Co-marketing activities with partners and customers.
  • Marketing of the partner programs. Lead and follow up regional PR activities such as
    • Development of a PR plan Management of the PR agency/ies, including development and follow up of quarterly KPI:s
    • Regional press conferences, press releases.
    • Case studies and local reference database.
    • Submission of local speaking opportunities and manage interaction with media
    • Develop relations with key industry groups
    • Be prepared to act as spokesperson for Axis
    • Axis Communications’ Academy
      • Marketing of Axis Communications’ Academy course curriculum
      • Cooperation with the relevant Chief trainer in the region
    • Market Intelligence
      • Have insight and knowledge about the size, trends and competitive landscape in the region. Cooperation with the relevant Competitive Intelligence person in the region.
      • Sharing market knowledge with the sales organization in order to drive sales.
    • People manager and bearer of our company culture
      • A key demand on the Regional Marketing Director is to be a people manager both for the direct reports as well as the other accessible resources within SAP. We have very high ambitions in driving our brand and market positioning but we have limited recourses. So the ability to inspire, drive and manage the total organization within the marketing area is critical.
      • Responsible for building and leading the team in line with Axis overall business needs incl annual reviews for the members of the team, identifying areas of development for individuals and closing gaps.

    WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

    Someone with:

    • At least 5 years experience in a similar capacity, in a strategic marketing role in a fast pace environment
    • At least 5 years of management experience
    • Experience in integrated marketing, i.e. PR, events, DM and marketing programme management
    • Post graduate degree in Business Administration, Marketing

    Important skills/abilities:

    • Good leader/management skills with ability to leading a team
    • Excellent organisational skills, being able to handle multiple priorities
    • Ability to transfer marketing knowledge into sales driving activities
    • Fluent in English and possible other key languages for the region
    • Open minded, self-driven with 'relationship skills'
