In this role the Project Engineer's responsibilities will include but not limited to:
•Design and application of natural gas processing systems, including: separation, dehydration, sweetening, mechanical refrigeration, J-T Plants, liquid stabilization, fractionation, absorption, compression, heating, cooling, and combustion. An Engineer is expected to know or learn how to use the Promax process simulation software to aid in designing various systems.
•Specific equipment designs for: 2&3 phase separators, indirect heaters, absorption columns, reboilers, shell & tube heat exchangers, fractionation columns, and natural draft combustors.
•Design of crude oil processing systems and equipment, including: crude oil emulsion treaters and free water knockouts.
•Applications engineering for buy-out equipment such as: pumps, air cooled exchangers, valves, instrumentation, direct fired heaters, etc.
•Understanding the environmental concerns associated of the energy industry the applicability of process equipment to waste and emissions reduction.
•Mechanical design of process equipment, structural components and piping. Principal among these skills will be a working knowledge of Section VIII, Div. I. of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, API Standards and Recommended Practices, ASME piping codes, TEMA heat exchanger standards, welding procedures/codes and knowledge of pressure vessel design using ASME pressure vessel software, Compress.
•An Engineer will be expected to have knowledge of or have the background to learn thermal rating techniques for shell & tube and air cooled heat exchangers using HTRI heat exchanger design software
The Project Engineer should have a good working knowledge of Bills of Materials, drafting standards, vessels and P & ID’s. In addition, an understanding of ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
Depending on specific job assignments, engineers are expected to participate in weekly proposal meetings with sales and estimating or weekly production operations meetings.
As a key employee, the Project Engineer will be expected to learn and support other aspects of our business including: start-up & operating techniques (work with the Service Manager and Field Personnel), cost accounting and estimating, procurement, customer relations and sales.
